(Time is to stop body shaming)

We are being told from a very young age that everyone is different from each other; we have applied this rule in different areas of our life. We have some friends who are hilarious, some are sedate, and some like to be socially active, others like to be reserved and we somehow respect or value their differences or way of style. We talk about accepting other people’s culture, lifestyle and so on, but when it comes to appearance we totally back away from this.Awareness regarding this could be begin  begin from home,if your kid points at a person in gathering and say "hey look she's fat, in role of begin criticising at the side of your child, you higher teach your child that "Yeah she's fat and healthy, and it's normal".

Social media can expose a vicious body image and body shaming environment. Social media is utterly toxic for body image ,it cultivates the risk of being the target of someone else’s body shaming comment .The bollywood actress shika talsania (veer di wedding, wakeup sid ) has been body shamed from time to time on social media.

SOCIAL MEDIA LITERACY

Eating healthy and being fit is undoubtedly good for living a happy life, but blaming yourself, hating on your body parts is not going to do any good. We should start this with ourselves by accepting others as they are. Social media is now trying to play its role in stopping the body shaming trend.

The express TV drama OYE MOTTI depicts the very enroot social issue of our society.   download.jpg

It is tackling a very serious issue in the modern world addressing weight, bullying, body shaming, and making other people realize how much harm this can cause to other people's lives and mental stability.

But  don't you people think it's  such a hypocrisy that in this drama instead of  hiring plus size models and actresses, they are starring those smart and zero size models and made them look chubby.

On the one side social media preach to be kind to others and on the other hand when someone post his/her pic, comment section is filled with advices of weight loss, diets and of course hatred and negative comments.Let me clear this thing, telling a obese person to eat salad,or advising a skinny person to eat more isn't going to do any good to them, infact it'll ruin their day and cause depression and anxiety. If there's a person or friend who's going through this and you want to help them to get better or healthy  ,don't criticise them help them to love and accept their selves because that's the very first step to get a healthy life style.

Another positive step is taken by KHAADI .they have launched their new campaign by the name now never for plus size women. This is actually very pragmatic.download (1).jpg
